Project Highlights: Training and ExercisesWhen designing emergency exercises, we follow the guidance offered by the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP). As such, we seek to involve your partner agencies and design the exercise to test what they need and want to test. Exercises are based on your operations plans. When designing exercises, we reference these documents – including emergency operations plans, Standard Operating Guidelines (SOGs), employee manuals, etc. – so as to create a list of expected actions. With these expected actions, we are able to create evaluation matrices with which to “rate” the performance of the exercise players. All of this information is gleaned from the Concepts and Objectives (C&O) meeting, Initial Planning Conference (IPC), Mid-Term Planning Conference (MPC), and Final Planning Conference (FPC), which are recommended by the HSEEP process. Our training services are also built on the plans you have. After developing an operations plan, we can design a program that trains your partner agencies on the guidelines contained in the newly revised plan. Additionally, exercises may comprise parts of our training services. How else to better train your people and test the conceptual elements of the plan? Training and Exercising Project Examples
